Kevin Lewis
Navy Veteran | Defensive Tactics Expert | Author & Founder
Kevin Lewis is a Navy veteran, elite defensive tactics instructor, and former Director of Training at Covered 6 Security Vocational School. He has trained military units, law enforcement officers, private security teams, and A-list actors for more than 20 major films.
As the Founder of Universal Defensive Tactics and author of the Idiot’s Guide to Krav Maga, Kevin is also developing Krav Maga Hawaii, with new locations launching on Maui and Oahu. He holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Shudo-Kan Karate, and multiple firearms and instructor certifications.
Recognized as a “trainer’s trainer,” Kevin teaches with a clear philosophy:

He lives in Kaneohe, Hawaii, and is a proud father of two daughters.
